A new Turkish Statistical Institute, Instructions for the Access and Use of Micro Data came into effect from September 1, 2012 regulating the procedures for micro data access and usage. According to Part 2 Item 5(1) of Turkish Statistical Institute, Instructions for the Access and Use of Micro Data, the researchers of the following institutions and organizations can access to micro data produced and/or published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) upon approval of the Presidency on condition that they are used in researches for scientific purpose:
Micro data sets are established from the records in order to reinforce the scientific researches by the Institute. These data sets brought into use upon approval of the Presidency are classified into Group A and B depending on access procedures.
Upon the approval of the request and signing of the protocol between both parties, the reasearcher can start the study in DRC. The results of the studies are permitted to be taken outside the Institute after the completion of controlling processes by the related experts of Turkstat.
Upon the approval of the request and signing of the Letter of Undertaking, the micro data CDs are provided.
Pricing of micro data shall be made based on the Revolving Fund Management Directorate Management Board Decision.
1 - Micro data will be free of charge for Institutions within the scope of the Official Statistics Program, other official institutions and organizations in Turkey, international institutions and organizations of which Turkey is a member, researchers who apply with the decision of the university senate or a letter from the rectorate. For other microdata requests, article 8 and 9 will be into effect.
2 - For Group B microdata, microdata set for every year is 100 TL for domestic requsets and 100 € for international requests. When micro data set is for more than one year, for every additional one year , it is priced for 100 TL for domestic requsets and100 € for international requests.
3 - For Group A microdata, one hour use in Microdata Research Center is 20 TL for domestic requsets and 20 € for international requests. When there is need for user support, it costs additional 50 TL for domestic requsets and 50 € for international requests.
The total cost of the study (exc. VAT) is calculated by adding the Treasury's share calculated by the Ministry of Finance to the total fees.
