Life Satisfaction Survey

The main purpose of Life Satisfaction Survey (LSS) is; to measure the general happiness perception of the individual, the social value, the general satisfaction from main life areas (health care, social security, formal education, work life, income, personal security, justice services, personal development, hope related with future), and the satisfaction from public services, and to follow up these changes in this satisfaction in time.

LSS was first implemented as an additional module in the Household Budget Survey in 2003. The survey is carried out regularly every year since 2003. The sample size of the survey in the years 2003-2012, was calculated to produce estimates on the basis of Turkey, rural, urban. For the first time in 2013, the sample size of the survey was calculated to produce estimates on the base of Statistical Regions (SR) Level 3. Since 2014, the sample size of the survey is designed to produce estimates at Turkey level.
